How to tip The Verge: email, Signal, and more

Note: this is exclusively for editorial tips. For advertising, technical support, and other inquiries, please refer to the appropriate section.

Many significant stories originate from tips provided by the public. We are continually seeking information about the companies and products that influence our daily lives, insights into government agencies that regulate technology and the environment, and other narratives that explore technology's impact on humanity. Concrete evidence, such as firsthand accounts or relevant documents, is invaluable. If you have encountered information that the public should be aware of, we encourage you to reach out.

How to Submit Tips

Email

Email is the most straightforward method for contacting us. You can send your tips to the general email address: tips@theverge.com.

If you believe you may face repercussions, please refrain from using your work email, Wi-Fi, or devices to communicate.

Signal

Alternatively, you can send tips via the Signal app, which provides encrypted messaging and calling features. While Signal does store your number and the last time you accessed the app, it does not log your communication partners. It is important not to use your work phone for this purpose. You can download the Signal app from your device’s application store.

Email addresses and Signal accounts for specific staff members can be found on their respective author pages linked in the staff list.

Depending on your version of Signal, you may need to save numbers as contacts before initiating a conversation. Once the conversation has started, the contact can be deleted. For additional security tips on using Signal, the Freedom of the Press Foundation provides valuable guidelines.

Security and Best Practices

In compliance with best practices set forth by the Freedom of the Press Foundation, this page is served over HTTPS and does not utilize third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
